The following acts like a normal cast when pressed, providing the targeting circle etc.
Make sure the mouse cursor is out of cast range on release then use STOP or another action to cancel it. Be very fast with STOP when the key is released (same as normal animation cancelling). Right clicking with the key held removes the targeting visuals BUT IT WILL STILL BE CAST!. No matter what you do if the mouse cursor is in cast range it will cast on release. There is no way to cancel the cast while the key is held. On 'instant' cast abilities like SF Raze it casts on press & will attempt to cast again on release, so expect error messages if you use this 'as is'. By holding down ALT and pressing the spell, you will automatically target yourself and cast that spell. Self-Casting is a similar concept, it allows you to cast abilities like Morgana's black shield, sona, soraka, nidaleee heals, or even Zilean's ult on yourself without clicking around or trying to target your own hero during the middle of a battle. Basically, what this means is that like Karthus or Urgot's Q skill, when you smart cast an ability it will automatically cast on the point where your mouse is without you clicking the left mouse button.
